For several months there has been the most beautiful kitty visiting our yard. She is a skinny and VERY skittish little thing. Very gorgeous markings. Almost as beautiful as I, actually.

My Momma has been heard to say, "If I could catch that little girl, I'd bring her in the house." We don't know if she's really a girl but Momma said it so it must be true.
For the past few weeks the little thing comes running at the very early first feeding. She is so hungry that she gobbles the food as it's being poured into the bowl — eating it as it's mid-air. During this intense hunger she gets over her skittishness and doesn't run away.
Tonight Momma looked out the window and saw PK (aka Pretty Kitty) and went outside. PK dashed to the corner of the house & cautiously peered at Momma. Momma called & called but PK wouldn't budge. Momma turned and walked away. PK seemed to think, "Waaaait! Come back!" and ran to within a few feet of Momma. After much coaxing my Momma was able to pet PK for the first time.
I think if Momma can catch PK I'll be having a new sister.
Edit: Okay, it's been MORE than a few months…my Momma has no sense of time. Hmm, neither do I really. Anyway, PK first showed up on our patio on October 28, 2008. Here's a link to the first photo my Momma got of her. http://www.flickr.com/photos/human_beans/2978898521/in/photostream/
